Oh my golly gosh I am so absolutely exhausted!

Wood is a pretty cool material for craftiness. To me, wood resonates of history, purity and worldly goodness. We had operation-men, skeleton-men, kidnapped-men, mummy-men and some rest-in-peace biscuits!
I baked them using a basic gingerbread recipe and a cutter from the local kitchen shop. Once cooled, some icing pens provided an easy way to decorate. Very yum!

The Full Moon party was a success! 

Boyfriend and I managed to squish squash 50 plus people in our little house courtyard, carport and a rogue camp in the garden. There was much laughter and chit chat galore as our guests dined on cupcakes, biscuits, sausage rolls, party pies and quite a large quantity of beer.

I'm quite taken with stencil and poster street art at the moment. It just shows more planning and organisation than regular graffiti. As a fan of lists and detail, I like the fact that effort goes into these.

The birthday party was a zoo theme and so an elephant cake was just perfect.  
The cake itself was chocolate mud with a raspberry ganache. Each mouthful was an incredibly satisfying experience that brought a rosy hue to the cheeks of every one in the room. This is a picture of one of my favourite pieces of Canberra's public art scene. You'll find it being quiet and camoflage-like in Garema Place, Civic. It's pretty casual, no flashy lights or plaque to tell you a long drawn out story. It's just cutlery on a grate. End of.

Today I received a smile from the other side of the world. What a lovely, unexpected surprise! It arrived in my letterbox in an envelope post marked San Francisco, California. Knowing no buddies in San Francisco I was quite confused and intrigued. My address had been written in an old fashioned script, with a snail drawn on the front.
